2026 List of Senior Discounts at Retail Stores

10% 20% 15% Senior Savings Senior Discounts Available

Retail discounts for seniors are one of those things that are easy to miss if you don’t know to look for them. Most stores don’t advertise them on the door — you have to ask, and you usually have to show up on the right day of the week. A member of our team’s mom saves over $150 a year just by doing her Kohl’s shopping on Wednesdays and her Walgreens run on their monthly Senior Day.

We called or visited every store on this list to confirm the discounts are still active in 2026. A few favorites from past years have unfortunately gone away, but there are still plenty of real savings to be had — especially if you combine store discounts with an AARP card. Still not sure? Drop us a line at [email protected] and we’ll help you sort through your options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which retail stores offer the biggest senior discounts?
Salvation Army offers 15–50% off on designated discount days for adults 55 and older. LensCrafters (for AARP members) provides 50% off prescription lenses with a frame purchase. Walgreens offers 20% off one day per month for AARP members or adults 55+.
Do any retail stores offer senior discounts every day?
Most retail senior discounts are tied to specific days of the week or month rather than being available daily. Exceptions may exist at individual locations, so it is worth asking your local store manager.
How can I find retail discounts if I am a veteran?
Many stores on this list offer separate military and veteran discounts. Ace Hardware, AutoZone, Banana Republic, Belk, CVS, Michael's, and others all provide military savings. Carry your military ID or DD 214 to access these offers.
Does Amazon offer a discount for seniors?
Amazon offers a discounted Prime membership at $6.99 per month for households enrolled in qualifying government assistance programs such as SNAP or Medicaid. This is not age-based, but many seniors who qualify can access significantly reduced Prime rates.
